Since the dawn of man, music has existed in nature in many different forms and produced by many different sources. Even as fire was still first being discovered, the earliest of humans have been given the opportunity to appreciate music at its most natural forms. Since then, its value to calm wracked nerves, sooth fiery tempers, inspire creative minds and heal scarred souls has ever been at the forefront of appreciation. However, some have contended that music, beautiful as it is in some of its forms, has no practical value and is not needed for a conducive atmosphere. This article will attempt to prove that assertion to be grossly inaccurate.

Young as it is—considering that our species is not that matured as of yet—science has held no solid proof as to the actual effects of music to the human health. However studies have begun to indicate that, though the reasons behind them have not been observed at a concrete biological basis, music does indeed contribute to the benefit of humans at some level.

Healing effects

To a degree, listening to music has its effects in our senses. Certainly a high pitched noise has that unpleasant effect of pain in our sound receptors and leaves a residue of a migraine afterwards. This is because music allows the brain to produce hormones that numb the aches for a time. As opposed to using synthetic medication, this is definitely a healthier and more natural method.
